Jan Term...

Well, I guess it's almost over. I really am sorry I haven't posted a little more often, but hey it's only been a month. Jan Term, the time of year when I take two classes, three hours each, five days a week. Blech! Nine to Noon, One to Four, every day. Oh, and then every Thursday I get to work from Four to Eleven on top of that. Geez, Thursdays are not much fun.

So I'm taking statistics from Dr. Cochran, who is pretty much amazing. I'm going to take as many classes as possible from him during my time here. He's how I would be if I were to become a math professor. Very ADD, might make a comment that would normally be something people would say to get a laugh, but he wouldn't stop, just continue going without hesitation, whether people laughed or not. He beats himself up over small arithmetic errors or copying down a problem wrong...totally me! So I pretty much think he's awesome. Statistics on the other hand is not. It's boring; it's not math. There are five people in there from my calculus class... We sit in the corner and mess around the whole time. One guy just sits there playing Super Mario 64 on his Project64 Emulator. So, the class is kind of boring. The rest of the class is struggling: all those none math/science majors.

My other class is Emergency Response. It's all review for me. I'm already certified in everything they are going to certify me in. So, I sit there with my friend who is also a lifeguard, and we just sit.

Only two more days of that...woo...hoo.

So I recently decided to actually pursue my interest in Linux. I think I'll paritition my desktop, allocate about 15-20GB to Linux and then have at it. I may need some help from a few upper classmen while I get used to it, but it should be a lot of fun.

Well, that should pretty much catch you up. Happy 2006!
